Kishangarh (Rajasthan): Monika Kumawat, mother of a toddler and a Covid survivor, set a world record for completing a yoga exercise that includes 108 Surya Namaskar in 10 minutes and 58 seconds. Monika, who is also the founder of 'Krishnam Yogasthali', in an exclusive chat with ETV Bharat, appealed to all women to practise yoga at their homes.
"My family was infected with the coronavirus. Even at the traumatising time, I offered yoga classes virtually to my students. It helped me a lot in boosting my confidence and building a path of success," said Kumawat. "When I was infected with coronavirus, I got an opportunity to practise more and more. This helped me in securing a world record by performing Surya Namaskar in 10 minutes and 59 seconds and I broke the earlier record of 12 minutes and 37 seconds," Kumawat said.
Kumawat, who bagged a place in the prestigious International World of Records, said she has been performing yoga for the last 7 years under the guidance of Umesh Vema and Hemlata Sharma.
