Bikaner: A pigeon, suspected to be from Pakistan, has been captured along the International Border in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, officials said on Monday. The pigeon, with rings attached to its neck and one of its legs, was spotted near the Tejana area under Mahajan police station limits.
According to police, a slip was also found attached to the bird with a Pakistani mobile number on it.
On seeing the suspected pigeon villagers informed the police. The bird was captured by Lunkaransar and Mahajan police teams and an alert was issued following which security forces have also become active at the Mahajan firing range.
Security agencies have reported many such incidents in the past as well where pigeons and balloons with Pakistani messages were spotted at the India-Pakistan border.
Police informed that a pigeon has been kept in custody for the past one year in the Poogal police station after it was captured from the international border.
