Jaipur (Rajasthan): Three days after the Centre sought a report from the Rajasthan chief secretary on allegations of phone tapping, the state government late on Tuesday evening sent its report to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In its reports, the Rajasthan government reportedly said that it has been following the due process while tapping phones and was doing so only after obtaining the required permission form the home secretary. The state government said that there was no violation of rules whatsoever.
According to reports, Chief Secretary Rajeeva Swarup and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rohit Kumar Singh had prepared the report on Sunday itself, but sent it following two days of discussions with the state government.
Earlier on July 19, the Centre had sought a report from the Rajasthan chief secretary on allegations of phone tapping after two audio clips of conversations purportedly regarding a "conspiracy" to topple the state's Congress government emerged amidst the ongoing political crisis in the state.
In a communication, the Ministry of Home Affairs told the Rajasthan chief secretary to send a report on the allegations of phone tapping.

Meanwhile, the eight-member Rajasthan SOG team, which has been camping in Delhi and Manesar, will today once again take investigative action in connection with the 'horse-trading' audio clips.
Earlier, the SOG team had reached Manesar of Haryana to quiz rebel Congress legislator Bhanwarlal Sharma, who allegedly figured in the audio tapes. The team was allegedly stopped by the Haryana Police outside a hotel where Congress legislators were said to be holed up.
According to reports however, the Haryana Police has now assured full cooperation to the SOG.
