Rajasthan: Police busts cricket betting racket, 6 held

A cricket betting racket was busted with the arrest of six people in Sikar district of Rajasthan on Sunday afternoon. According to reports, thirty-one mobiles, two laptops, fake sim cards and some other electronic devices have been seized from their possession.

Sikar (Rajasthan): The Rajasthan police on Sunday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested six people from a hotel in Sikar district in connection with the case on Sunday afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, the police teams raided a hotel located in Dadiya area of Sikar district and arrested six people hailing from Nawalgarh of the state while they were betting on cricket matches at the hotel, said Chetram Chaudhary, Dadiya police station officer.

"As soon as we received information that a six-member cricket betting gang has reached a hotel in Dadiya, a special team was sent to nab the bookies and to take necessary actions against them," the police official added.

Thirty-one mobiles, two laptops, fake sim cards and other some electronic devices have been seized from their possession, he added.

They have been charged under Sections 418 (cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue to person whose interest the offender is bound to protect), Section 419 (punishment for cheating), Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), Section 467 (forgery of valuable security), Section 471 (using a forged document) along with Section 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said.

सीकर पुलिस ने क्रिकेट के सटोरियों के खिलाफ बड़ी कार्रवाई की है। सीकर पुलिस ने एक होटल में दबिश देकर झुंझुनू जिले के 6 बड़े सटोरियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस को इनके पास सट्टे के करीब 25 करोड रुपए का हिसाब किताब मिला है। कार्रवाई इतनी बड़ी थी कि रविवार दोपहर से लेकर देर रात तक पुलिस हिसाब किताब में आंकलन में जुटी रही और देर रात पूरी वारदात का खुलासा किया।

Body:जिले के दादिया थाना अधिकारी चेतराम चौधरी ने बताया कि रविवार को दोपहर हो गई सूचना मिली थी झुंझुनू नवलगढ़ के कई बड़े सटोरिए एक होटल में सट्टा करने के लिए आए हैं। इस पर विशेष टीम का गठन किया गया और दादिया में स्थित होटल कृष्ण में दबिश दी गई तो वहां पर झुंझुनू और नवलगढ़ के छह सटोरिए सट्टा करते हुए मिले। पुलिस ने इन सभी को पकड़ लिया और थाने लेकर आई। पुलिस लाइन की तलाशी ली तो उनके पास से 31 मोबाइल और दो लैपटॉप सहित कई इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स आइटम बरामद हुए। इसके अलावा हिसाब किताब की फ्री डायरिया की मिली। पुलिस ने सभी को खंगाला तो उन में करीब 25 करोड़ का हिसाब किताब मिला। इनके पास से जो सिम कार्ड बरामद हुए हैं वह अलग-अलग लोगों के नाम से थे इसलिए पुलिस ने इनके खिलाफ धोखाधड़ी और आईटी अधिनियम के तहत भी मुकदमा दर्ज किया है।
