Rajasthan police arrest WhatsApp admins for spreading fake news on coronavirus

The admins of two WhatsApp groups were arrested in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district for spreading fake news about coronavirus on social media. They allegedly spread the fake news of three people of the district who were tested positive on Wednesday. The accused claimed that the three people affected by the virus had died.

Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan): Rajasthan police on Saturday arrested admins of two WhatsApp groups in Jhunjhunu district for spreading fake news about coronavirus on social media.

As per reports, the accused have been identified as Babulal Saini and Prakash Chandra Saini, both are residents of Jhunjhunu's Golyana village.

They allegedly spread the fake death news of three people of the district who were tested positive on Wednesday.

Giving a stern warning to miscreants for spreading such rumours, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district released a WhatsApp number and appealed people to complain on that number against such miscreants.

It is to be noted that the total number of COVID-19 infected cases from Rajasthan has reached to seven so far.
