Sikar (Rajasthan): A case of sexual assault of a minor girl has been registered in Ranoli town of Sikar district in Rajasthan and a search operation has been launched, police said on Thursday.
According to the family members, the girl was found unconscious in a basement of a market located near her house.
The accused as been identified as Sunil who owns a scrap store near the victim's house.

"The accused made a phone call to the victim and asked to meet him in the morning. He then took her to the basement of the market and raped her," the family members of the 17-year-old victim alleged.
On being missing for hours, the family members started searching her and found the minor in the basement with a slit wrist.
They rushed her to a local hospital and later informed police about the incident.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act after a medical examination of the victim was conducted.
"A 17-year-old girl has been raped in Ranoli town by a man named Sunil. The victim has recorded her statement. A hunt is on to nab the absconding accused and further investigation into the matter is underway," Sikar ASP Devendra Kumar Sharma told reporters.
