Jaipur: As Chinese cities go into partial lockdown over the spread of deadly coronavirus, an alert has been issued by the state health department in Rajasthan to stay alert and report any suspected case of the virus.
According to reports, the department has also given instructions to step up surveillance across the airports and on 18 passengers who recently returned to the state from Chinese cities.

National Centre of Disease Control released a list of these 18 passengers and it has been handed over to the state health department.
Several districts such as Hanumangarh, Sikar and Barmer have been put into high alert following the spread of the virus. These cities will be under the lens for the next 28 days.
The coronavirus has infected over 2,000 people and left 56 others dead in China, where authorities have locked down five cities, including Wuhan, and suspended all public transport in an unprecedented move to contain its spread.

In Wuhan, the capital of central Hubei province, authorities have banned people from leaving the city of 11 million people. Transport bans have been placed in many other cities in Hubei, affecting some 56 million people.
The Union health ministry has said 12,828 passengers from 60 flights have been screened for novel coronavirus infection till January 22 but no positive case has been detected in the country so far.
