Jaipur (Rajasthan): In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Rajasthan, Ramesh Meena mentioned that the government is making every possible effort to overcome COVID-19 on an urgent basis. But the major aspect is that people will have to get adapted to live amid the pandemic.
He alleged that the migrant laborers issue has been politicised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He said that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, the entire cabinet and the administration is making all efforts to help the state to overcome the pandemic and food items are also been made available for the poor, disabled and laborers.
Ramesh stated that Gehlot intends that no person of the state should sleep with hunger.
He further added that everyone has to be vigilant and follow social distancing norms.
On the special package of 20 lakh crore given by PM Narendra Modi to overcome the economic downturn, the minister commented that this is the budget of the central government, the state government budget will be known only once allotted.
Ramesh said that the GDP of the country, youth employment, the pace of development, etc should be discussed rather than the migrant laborers issue.
While talking about the locust attack in the state he added that the government has made all possible efforts to prevent and protect the state from the migrating grasshoppers.
Regarding the water supply problem, he said that water will be supplied from tankers. Provisions like tubewell, head pumps will also be made available.
