Jaipur: The Jaipur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team that reached Raisinghnagar to arrest assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Amrit Lal Jingar who was caught taking a bribe was fired at by the ASP's gunmen.
During the firing, the accused ASP escaped from the ACB vehicle ran towards his house. However, Director-general Alok Tripathi and Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Dinesh M N who were tracking the team's movement from ACB headquarters immediately contacted Sriganganagar IG and SP demanding a police force for backup.
Following the backup request, the local SHO and Jabta police reached the spot to support the ACB team and Jingar was arrested from his house. He was brought to ACB post.
The ACB team is currently closely interrogating the accused ASP Jingar. Meanwhile, the gunman who shot at the NCB team is also taken into custody and will be charged for state hurdle.
ASP Amrit Lal Jingar of Sriganganagar had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh to settle a dispute between the husband and wife and a complaint was filed by the complainant at the ACB headquarters in Jaipur.
After verifying the complaint, the team of DSP Mangilal from Jaipur reached Raisinghnagar to arrest the Jinnagar red-handed taking the bribe.
Acting on the back-up request, Sikar ACB DSP Zakir Akhtar also reached Raisinghnagar. As soon as Jingar took the bribe through the broker, the ACB team nabbed both, the broker and ASP.
