Jaipur: The Anti Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Rajasthan Police for allegedly taking a bribe from a man in a motorcycle theft case in Bharatpur district of the state, an official said.
The ASI, Ramesh Chand, had demanded bribe from one Manoj Sharma in a case related to a motorcycle theft, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ACB, Ashok Chauhan said.
Sharma approached the ACB and subsequently Chand was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000, he said.
The ASI was arrested and a case against him registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Chauhan said.
