Dungarpur (Rajasthan): The movement Teacher Recruitment-2018 is becoming fierce with the demand to fill 1167 unreserved posts of TSP area from ST candidates.
On the second day, the National Highway-8 was occupied by the agitators.
A large number of miscreants have taken the highway of about 10 kilometres adjacent to the district, and every once in a while stones are being pelted from the hills.
The police and administration were on their toes to calm down the situation.
Although the police are firing tear gas and rubber bullets to control the miscreants, they are not able to manage the situation due to the large number of protesters gathering there.
CM Gehlot's appeal to agitators
Chief Minister Gehlot tweeted that the nuisance and violent demonstration in Dungarpur are very unfortunate. The Constitution gives us the right to peacefully protest, but no one has the right to take the law into their hands. He appeals to the protestors to cooperate and help maintain peace, law and order.
Delegation of students should talk to CM: Dotasara
At the same time, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara said that some miscreants ransacked and set arson on the pretext of representing people, which is condemnable.
Dotasara urged the agitators that the people's representatives should come and talk to the Chief Minister. The Rajasthan government will definitely listen to them and together they can come to a peaceful conclusion.
After a bit of sternness in the morning, the police are at the back foot again
On Friday, the police vigorously drove the agitators 3 kilometres away. During this time, the police resorted to the JCB to remove stones, burnt tires and burnt vehicles lying on the highway, but within an hour, the miscreants started hurling stones from the hills, due to which the police had to retreat.
At present, the road ravages from Motli bend are occupied by the miscreants and there are a huge number of stones being hurled from the hills.
However, the Police force is deployed in large numbers and is keeping an eye on the situation.
Raghuveer Meena, member of the Congress Working Committee blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Bharatiya Tribal Party for the entire matter.
Meena told ETV Bharat that slogans raised in the tribal zone by anti-social elements like terrorists are completely wrong.
