Minor raped, murdered in Rajasthan's Jhalawar

An LKG class girl reportedly went missing on Wednesday and her body was recovered in a sack from the rented house of a 40-year-old accused in the night. Police informed that the accused hails from Madhya Pradesh and is being interrogated.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan, police said on Thursday.

According to police, the accused person has been identified as Lalchand Bairagi of Madhya Pradesh.

"The incident occurred on Wednesday under Sadar police station area of the district and the 40-year-old accused has been detained," police said.

The girl, who was an LKG student, reportedly went missing on Wednesday and the body was recovered in a sack from the rented house of the accused in the night. The police have launched a probe into the matter. The post-mortem has been conducted. After a preliminary inquiry, the police confirmed that it was a case of rape and murder, reports said.

However, the anxious family members were devastated by the shocking news of the recovery of her body.

Police said that the accused, is being interrogated in custody.
