Jhalawar: Delay in Covid test results nixes efforts to curb virus

In Jhalawar, people are not getting the reports of corona test even after 3 days. In such a situation, people have to make many trips to the Jhalawar Medical College for the reports. Due to the non-availability of reports, infected people are spreading corona and at the same time, timely treatment of infected people is also not started.

Jhalawar: In Jhalawar, people are not getting the reports of Covid tests even after 3 days. In such a situation, people have to make many trips to the Jhalawar Medical College for the reports.

Due to the non-availability of reports, infected people are spreading corona and at the same time, timely treatment of infected people is also not started.

Despite the large-scale testing in the district, late reports are negating the hard work of the district administration in battling the Covid surge.

Jhalawar Medical College's Department of Microbiology is conducting the test of samples. However, due to the heavy workload and increasing samples for testing, reports are getting delayed.

The Microbiology Department is also testing the samples collected from hospital OPD, bus stand, railway station, district hospitals and community health centres of the district.

According to Yogendra Tiwari, the HOD of the Department of Microbiology, testing samples are getting difficult as his department is getting close to thousand samples every day.

"Due to limited resources, Corona reports are taking time to prepare. Still, his team is working hard to provide test reports on time," Tiwari said.
