Jaipur man kills wife over social media popularity

A man bludgeoned his 22-year-old wife Reshma because he suspected her of having an affair. He also doubted her of infidelity as she spent too much time on social media.

Jaipur: Unable to cope with his wife’s popularity on social media, a man killed his wife by strangulating her and then crushing her face by throwing a heavy stone on her. The incident took place in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Reshma (22). Her dead body was found lying in a pool of blood near New Mata Mandir on Delhi-Jaipur Highway.

The couple got married two years ago. Later, the husband started suspecting her of having affairs with other men and the two began fighting over it.

The woman hooked to social media had over 6,000 followers on her Facebook account.

She regularly shared her pictures and videos on social media. Envious of her popularity, her husband started suspecting his wife of infidelity, said ACP Ashok Gupta.

The accused has been arrested by the police and is being interrogated.
