Barmer: In a major drug haul, the Rajasthan police on Sunday seized 2.7 kg heroin worth Rupees 3 crore and arrested two persons in Barmer district.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Barmer SP Anand Sharma said that old smugglers, who live in the border areas, are becoming active again.
"While interrogating some of the accused, arrested for possessing fake currency, we came to know that couple of them are in possession of heroin too. Thereafter, we caught hold of them and recovered approx 2.7 kg of heroin" said Sharma.
He also added that the police have initiated a high-level probe to find out any International link related to the matter.
It is to be noted that on August 6, Barmer police have arrested as many as five smugglers and recovered counterfeit banknotes having a face value of Rs 6 lakh.
