Rape victim takes poison outside police office

A gang-rape victim in Rajasthan consumed poisonous substance outside the office of Senior Superintendent of Police alleging that the police did not act on her complaint.

Dausa (Rajasthan): A gang-rape victim from Dausa consumed some poisonous substance outside the office of Senior Superintendent of Police alleging police inaction.

The victim was immediately shifted to a hospital. Her condition is said to be critical.

The woman was allegedly raped by two youths on August 23 when she had gone to fields to fetch fodder.

''One accused is roaming freely and the police are hand in glove with him,” the victim's family alleged.

DSP Shankar Lal Meena says '' one accused was already arrested and the hunt is on to nab the second culprit. Further investigation is underway.''
