Fake notes deposited in Jodhpur banks, police register case

The Rajasthan police found a large number of fake notes of 100 and 50 denominations deposited in many banks of Jodhpur. These notes were sent to RBI Jaipur by the branches of various banks.

Jodhpur (Rajasthan): The Rajasthan police found a large number of fake notes of 100 and 50 denominations deposited in many banks of Jodhpur. These notes were sent to RBI Jaipur by the branches of various banks.

The matter came to light after the manager of RBI Jaipur, Jagdish Chandra Pareek, filed a case in Gandhi Nagar police station Later, the case was transferred to the Sardarpura police station of Jodhpur as all the banks are located in Jodhpur.

According to Mukesh Kumar, the sub-inspector of Sardarpura police station, from 2019 to 2020, bundles of 100 rupees and 50 rupees dirty notes were sent to RBI Jaipur, from which a large number of fake notes were recovered.

Though it is not yet ascertained whether these notes were deposited by customers or have been incorporated by bank employees, he added.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
