Pali: An elderly woman voluntarily gave up her hospital bed in Rajasthan's Pali district to a younger patient on Saturday saying "I have lived my life, he needs a bed."
Lehar Kanwar, a resident of Bhavri village, was admitted to the Bangad hospital in Pali after she complaint of some breathing issue.
As per reports, she got a bed after much efforts. It was then that she saw a man looking for a bed to save his 40-year-old COVID-suspected son.
Upon seeing this, Kanwar decided to vacate her bed for the man saying that she has lived her life and saving the life of this young man is more important.
Following this, the hospital staff praised Kanwar for the noble act and allotted the bed to the man.
Notably, with an aim to control the spread of COVID-19 infections, the Rajasthan government has imposed a strict statewide lockdown from May 10 to May 24.
