EC issues notice to Rajasthan minister for flouting COVID protocols

State Election Commission has issued a notice to UDH Minister Shantibhariwal who reportedly flouted Covid-19 norms at a roadshow. ETV had prominently raised the issue regarding the violation of Covid-19 guidelines at the roadshow.

Kota (Rajasthan): Taking cognizance of the ETV Bharat report, the State Election Commission has issued a notice to Urban Development & Housing Department Minister Shanti Dhariwal for violating COVID-19 protocol during a roadshow.

In a roadshow, minister Dhariwal was seen violating all the COVID-19 protocols. The minister led the election campaign of the Congress for the municipal elections.

ETV had prominently reported the issue of flouting COVID-19 guidelines at his roadshows.

Chief Electoral Officer Shyam Singh Rajpurohit sent a letter to District Election Officer and Collector Ujjwal Rathore to take requisite action.

The state is witnessing municipal elections and Section 144 is imposed in the area to ensure the safe conduct of the elections.

The matter was also raised by the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party who objected to the roadshow.

District Election Officer Ujjwal Rathore said that the Election Commission has sent a notice and further investigation is underway. Statements of the Police officials and people present at the rally will be recorded.
