Bikaner: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) team on Thursday has carried out search operation in offices of 'Saji' business dealers regarding import of the material.
The central government has doubled the import custom duties on all good imported from Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack.
The DRI team from Jodhpur and Jaipur has carried out the investigation for entire day in Bikaner which can further continue for two-three days, sources said.
Meanwhile, sodium salt called 'Saji' is used as common preservative in factories for making Papads. It is added along with salt to enhance the flavour.
The Papad business faced a huge loss due to sudden hike in import duties. Reportedly, the material imported after hike in import duties was from Pakistan but was informed to concerned authorities as Afghanistan.
Saji is produced in large amount in Sindh of Pakistan and at the borders Afghanistan and India.
