Dholpur: Two police constables were allegedly abducted and beaten brutally by a dozen miscreants on Chambal bridge at Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan border on Tuesday. The abducted cops have been identified as Vijaypal Singh and Hari Om Yadav, both posted at the Kotwali police station in Dholpur Rajasthan.
Superintendent of police Mridul Kachhwa, who visited the injured constables admitted in the emergency ward of the district hospital, said that both the policemen went for the routine patrolling towards the Chambal bridge on Madhya Pradesh border.
In the meantime, a dozen people on cars and bikes came from the opposite side and started a scuffle after stopping bikes of both the constables. Later, the accused dragged both of them towards MP where they beat them with belts and batons.
Assuming the constables dead, the accused left them on the spot and ran away with their bikes. Later, police reached the spot and took both of them to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Kachhwa said that the accused are being identified and investigations are on. A case of kidnapping has also been registered.
"As soon as the accused are identified, action will be taken," he said.
