Covid patient dies in hospital premises due to lack of oxygen

A woman who tested covid positive died in the premises of Bangar Hospital due to the lack of oxygen in Rajasthan's Pali district.

Pali (Rajasthan): A covid positive woman from Sirohi who was referred to the Bangar Hospital in a critical condition, died on the stretcher outside the hospital, as she was not given oxygen supply on time. Enraged by the incident, the woman's relatives created a ruckus in the hospital.

According to the hospital authorities, the woman in a critical state was brought to Bangar hospital in an ambulance with oxygen support, sadly while she was being moved on to a stretcher, her oxygen support was removed and it was during this time that the woman died.

On Thursday, chaos erupted at the Bangar Hospital with 11 Covid patients in critical condition being referred late at night, when all 214 oxygen beds were already occupied.

In the absence of beds for these patients, extra beds were arranged on an emergency basis by social workers and the hospital management at 2 o'clock in the night.
