Bharatpur: Slamming Ashok Gehlot government for registering an FIR against 33 Gujjar leaders for holding a public meeting without required permission and allegedly not following the Covid-19 guidelines during the same, BJP leader Vijay Bainsla said the state government must file a police complaint against Congress leaders also for organizing similar meetings in the past.
"We welcome the decision of the government but it must file cases against Congress' leaders also for doing the same, ignoring Covid-19 guidelines," he said.
The Gujjars, who have been agitating, demanding reservation in educational institutions and government recruitment, had gathered on Saturday at a community 'mahapanchayat' in Bharatpur.
Vijay Bainsla said there are many Congress leaders who have not been following the Covid-19 guidelines in the state while holding meetings and should be booked accordingly.

"There should be the same punishment for identical crime," he asserted.
The Gehlot-led Congress government had extended 5 per cent reservation to the Gujjar community along with four other communities last year, and the Rajasthan Backward Classes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions in the State and of Appointments and Posts in Services under the State) (Amendment) Act, 2019, which ensures the same was also passed but there has been a legal impasse over the law, because of which it is yet to become a reality for them.
