CM Ashok Gehlot sanctions Rs 34.56 crores for funerals of Covid victims

Ashok Gehlot has released Rs. 34.56 crore from the Chief Minister's Covid-19 Relief fund to local administrative bodies to facilitate the last rites of people who die from Covid-19.

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sanctioned Rs. 34.56 crores from the Chief Minister's Covid-19 relief fund to local administrative bodies to facilitate the last rites of people who die from Covid-19.

Gehlot has also instructed to take the dead bodies from the hospital to crematoriums while maintaining corona protocols. The urban bodies will also bear the cost of funerals in case of deaths caused by Covid-19.

In the urban areas, arrangements for ambulances and funeral vans will be arranged by the local administrative bodies. If the relatives want to have the cremation done at the ancestral place, respective jurisdictional authorities will make all required arrangements.

In the case of rural areas, the necessary arrangements for the funeral will be monitored by the concerned subdivision officer. The rural bodies will arrange ambulances, funeral vehicles and necessary materials for the funeral rites as per the guidelines of the medical and health department.
