Dholpur: Family members of Chambal dacoit Jagan Gurjar have sent a complaint to District Collector Rakesh Kumar Jaiswal about the alleged harassment faced by Jagan who is a prisoner in Ajmer jail.
The family of the dacoit have accused the Ajmer jail administration of harassing the dacoit, due to which Jagan has been on a hunger strike in the jail for the last ten days.
Asaram, son of dacoit Jagan Gurjar, alleged that the district jail administration had conspired a few days ago to send his father to Ajmer high-security jail.
Jagan's son alleged that the Ajmer jail administration has been harassing his father for a long time. He has been kept separate from other prisoners inside the jail, Asaram said in the letter.
The residents of Vibhuti Pura village and the family of the dacoit have demanded he be shifted to the local district jail or Karauli prison.
Six cases were registered against him in Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur and Karauli districts after his release from jail in March 2017. He was in Dholpur jail after he surrendered to police in 2009 during the Gujjar agitation for reservations.
