Jhalawar (Rajasthan): At least three people including a woman and a child died after the car they were travelling in fell into the Chambal river on Wednesday night in the Gangadhar police station area of the district. The accident took place as a culvert which was being built on the Chambal river connecting Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh near Kundla in the district was damaged for the last six months.
All three are said to be residents of Bordia village in Madhya Pradesh.
On receiving the information police reached the spot after which with the help of villagers the dead bodies were taken out of the Chambal river.
According to the information, the culvert has been damaged for the last 6 months but the administration had not started any work to fix it. Barricades were also not set up on the culvert due to which the accident took place.
The culvert was damaged in floods last year.
