The Rajasthan government on Monday said that its doors were open for talks with the agitating Gurjar community members on their demands for reservation.
The government said the solution to the problem can only be achieved through dialogue.
State Health Minister Raghu Sharma and Speaker C P Joshi both appealed to the agitators to come and talk with the government and find a solution to the problem.
Earlier, Sharma apprised the House of the initiatives taken by the government so far on the issue.

The members of the Mahapanchayat have alleged that Gurjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla is politicising the 'protest'. The members gave claimed that Kirori Singh wants his son Vijay Bainsla to start his political career.  

Mahapanchayat members have decided that if  Kirori Singh Bainsla arrives at Bainsla to kick start the agitation, then only they follow the suit.  

In a meeting called by the members of the Mahapanchayat, it was also decided that if Vijay Bainsla or anyone from his behalf says anything, they will not abide by it.

Visiting the protest site, Gurjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla said, "We will continue protesting till our demands are not met. If the state government will fulfill our demands, we will end our protest."

Bainsla said, "Our biggest demand is fulfilment of backlog vacancies. The government had already about 'backlog vacancies' in its manifesto, hence we are protesting."

In view of the Gurjar agitation in Rajasthan, the Railways has cancelled three trains and diverted 29 trains. According to ministry officials, Kota-Hazrat Nizamuddin, Dehradun-Kota and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Kota trains have been cancelled.

Hundreds of protesters from the Gurjar community have blocked railway tracks in Rajasthan to demand reservation in jobs and educational institutions. Due to the protest, trains on the Delhi-Mumbai route have been stopped.

Scores of people from the Gurjar community continued their agitation over reservation on Monday, blocking railway tracks in Ajmer as part of their protest. The core committee of the Mahapanchayat, which was formed to reach a break-through in the Gurjar reservation protests, blocked the Ajmer road which goes to Mangaliawas. People of Gurjar community jammed the highway for about 1 hour. After this, the 4 point demand letter was handed over to the subdivision officer.

Members of the Gurjar community blocked railway tracks in Bharatpur as part of their protest today. "This time our delegation will not go anywhere to hold talks with the government. If they want to talk, they can come and meet us here on the railway track," said a protester.

Bainsla-led Gurjar faction to continue stir till demands are met

Bharatpur (Rajasthan): Gurjar leader Vijay Bainsla on Sunday said that the agitation for reservation will continue till their demands are met.

"We will continue our agitation till our demands are met and an order regarding it is issued by the government. We will not entertain anything less than that," Bainsla said.

The community has been divided into two factions. One faction, the Gurjar Reservation Committee led by Himmat Singh Gurjar has agreed with the Rajasthan government's cabinet sub-committee on 14 points following talks on Saturday while the other faction Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti led by Kirori Singh Bainsla is continuing with the protests.

The agitation over reservation, had started on November 1, due to which as many as seven trains were diverted.

The organisation is demanding that the Rajasthan government should get the Gurjar reservation included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution, fill the backlog of vacancies and give the benefit of five per cent reservation to the Most Backward Classes (MBCs) in the pending recruitment process.

The 14-point agreement includes providing a regular pay scale to 1,252 MBC candidates who have completed their probation period.

The state government will once again write to the Centre to include the provision related to reservation for the MBCs in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution, as per the agreement.

Meanwhile, families of the three people who died due to injuries received during a Gurjar agitation in the past will be given an assistance of Rs 5 lakh each.
