Jodhpur: A soldier of the Indian Army was martyred on Wednesday night in a ceasefire by Pakistan in the Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sepoy Laxman, a resident of Bilada tehsil of Jodhpur was injured and brought to the army hospital in a critical condition. He died in the hospital.
According to the defence spokesman, Laxman is the fourth soldier to be martyred in the incident of violation of ceasefire by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) this year.
The spokesman added that the Pakistani army had started an unprovoked firing in Sundarbani sector of Rajouri district and that Indian jawans gave a befitting reply to the firing.

The spokesman said that Sepoy Laxman was a brave, highly motivated and serious soldier. The nation will always be indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
Before this, in January, three army soldiers were killed in Pakistani firing on the Line of Control.
