Jaipur (Rajasthan): Ahead of the Gurjar community's scheduled protest for reservation on November 1, the Rajasthan government on Friday suspended mobile internet services in several districts of Rajasthan.
According to reports, the government has suspended data services, SMS, MMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms in Gurjar-dominated areas for 24 hours.
However, voice calls and broadband internet will reportedly continue.
The areas where mobile internet has been suspended include Kotputli, Pawta, Shahpura, Viratnagar and Jamwa Ramgarh.
The Gurjar Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti had earlier given a call for agitation over their set of demands, which includes five per cent reservation under the Most Backward Class (MBC) segment.

Meanwhile, the state government is putting in efforts to ensure that the agitation does not get out of control on November 1.
Congress leader Mahesh Joshi, who is the party's chief whip in the Rajasthan Assembly, appealed to the Gurjar community to maintain peace.
"The state government has agreed to three of their demands. Even the Gurjar community is now reflecting...the government's intentions are good," he said.
