Young man opens fire during 'Nagar Kirtan' in Punjab

A young man opened fire during 'Nagar Kirtan' that was being taken out on the eve of the 550th ‘Prakash Parva’ of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib. The police have arrested the accused along with his licensed rifle.

Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab): A young man opened fire during 'Nagar Kirtan' that was being taken out on the eve of the 550th ‘Prakash Parva’ of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib on Sunday.

The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Mandi Gobindgarh police, who came into action immediately after seeing the video, registered a case against Jatinder Singh and his father Naseeb Singh under the various sections of the Arms Act.

Speaking to media, Sub-inspector Balwinder Singh said, "After registering a case against the father-son duo, we have arrested them along with the licensed rifle."
