Jalandhar: At a time when curfew has been imposed in Punjab to prevent the spread of COVID-19, a person in Jalandhar misled the police into believing that he had run out of supplies.
The man called the police and informed them that he had run out of food and had been hungry for the past several days.
However, when the police reached the man's house, they found all food supplies stocked up. They even found that food was being cooked.
"We saw that the house was stocked up with all supplies - four gas cylinders, adequate vegetables, and enough flour. We also saw that food was being cooked in the house. It was very disappointing that he lied to us," a policeman said.

Cops then recorded a video calling out the man for misleading them, following which he admitted his mistake and appealed to other people to not repeat the same.
Punjab had imposed a state-wide curfew on March 23 as a measure to check the spread of the deadly infection.
A day later, the state government had announced that Deputy Commissioners will ensure door-to-door delivery of essential commodities such as groceries, milk, fruits and vegetables through pre-identified hawkers or distributors, wherever possible.
