Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will meet the youths who were arrested from Punjab in connection with the operation against now arrested Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh and have been lodged in the Central Jail of Dibrugarh, Assam on Thursday, sources said. The Prabandhak committee will also meet the family members of the detained youth today.

It is learnt that the Shiromani Committee Member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka has left for Assam from Amritsar along with the family members of the youth on Wednesday. Jaskaran Singh, representative of the IT department of Shiromani Committee, has also gone with him.

Permission received a few days ago: Speaking to the media at the time of his departure from Amritsar for Assam, Advocate Sialka said that the permission for the meeting of the family members of the youths detained in Dibrugarh Jail was obtained recently and a meeting has been arranged accordingly. Sialka said that after leaving Sri Amritsar by air yesterday, he will fly from Delhi to Assam today.
One family member each went to Assam: Sialka further informed that among the 10 youths detained in Dibrugarh jail are Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Virinder Singh Johal, Gurmeet Singh Bukanwala, Harjit Singh Jallupur Khaira, Bhagwant Singh Bajeke, Basant Singh, Gurinderpal Singh and Papalpreet Singh. One family member of each of the detained youth has been taken to Assam for a visit to their near and dear ones.
SGPC responsible for fighting the cases of detained youth: It is worth mentioning that Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has assigned the responsibility to Shiromani Committee member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka for fighting the cases of the detained youth.
