Bathinda: Three days after four soldiers were killed at Bathinda Military Station, Punjab Police have issued notices to the Army authorities to make available personnel, associated with the probe, so that their statements can be recorded. Also, permission has been sought for questioning the suspects.
Earlier, on Wednesday, four Army soldiers were killed in a shooting incident at Punjab's Bathinda Military Station. The Punjab Police had registered an FIR and had ruled out any terror angle in the incident. After which, the Punjab Police have now served notices to the Army wherein their personnel have been asked to make themselves available for recording their statements. Police claimed that a weapon was recovered from the spot and the CCTV cameras installed inside the military station have also been examined. Now, the Punjab Police have prepared a list of suspects who are to be questioned in Punjab. Now, police have written to the Army seeking permission to question of these suspects. The incident is being jointly investigated by the police and Army but no person has been arrested so far.
SHO Cantt police station Gurdeep Singh said investigation is being carried out by the army and the police together. Various aspects are being looked into, he said. "No one has been arrested in this case till now but a weapon was recovered and sent for forensic analysis. A list of suspects has been prepared and sent to the army officials so that they can be questioned with the army's permission," Singh said.
