Amritsar (Punjab): A passenger was arrested as soon as the IndiGo flight from Sharjah landed at the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport in Amritsar. The arrested passenger has been identified as Rajinder Singh, a resident of village Kotli in Jalandhar. The Rajasansi police have taken action against the accused after the complaint from the security manager. According to the information received, this incident took place on Indigo flight number 6E 1428 which reached Amritsar from Dubai.
Rajinder Singh started consuming alcohol on the flight and lost his temper due to excessive consumption. According to the complaint given to the police by Ajay Kumar, Assistant Security Manager of IndiGo Airlines, during the flight, the accused molested the female crew member after drinking alcohol and also raised a loud noise. Police acted on the complaint of the Assistant Security Manager.
A case was registered against the accused under sections 354 and 509 of the IPC. The accused was produced in court. From where the court has sent him to judicial custody. The accused passenger allegedly picked up a heated argument with the air hostess.

On January 23 this year, a SpiceJet passenger allegedly misbehaved with cabin crew on a Delhi-Hyderabad flight and he was subsequently deboarded. Later, the offloaded passenger was handed over to the security department at the Delhi airport.
As the incidents of misbehaviour and overdrinking on flights are repeating these days, the airlines and the police are taking stringent action against the guilty to curb such incidents. The recent offloading of the SpiceJet passenger and the latest arrest of the IndiGo passenger is being seen as part of the intensified steps being taken by the authorities to clamp down on the erring passengers.
