Bhatinda (Punjab): As India is reeling under the second wave of Covid-19, a doctor in Punjab's Bhatinda has donated his own hospital for the free treatment of infected patients.

Dr Vittul Gupta, one of the famous doctors of Bhatinda has donated his hospital-- Kishori Ram Hospital located in Basant Byavahar Colony to a local NGO, Youth Welfare Society for free treatment of the Covid patients.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Dr Gupta said, "Saving the life of a person is more important. After converting this hospital as a free Covid Care Centre, the needy patients of the area will benefit from it. I hope my efforts can at least save some lives."

NGO's president, Sonu Maheshwari said, "We have sought permission from the district administration to convert Kishori Ram Hospital as Covid Care Center. Here patients will be provided medicines, oxygen and food for free by the NGO. Immediately after getting permission, this hospital will be opened for the patients."

"Four ambulances have been given to this hospital by the NGO and various laboratories will be contacted for free Covid testing here," Maheswari said.
