Faridkot (Punjab): A day after the attack on police personnel in Patiala, a person on Monday opened fire upon being stopped by a police party in Faridkot's Kotkapura.
According to reports, a heated argument broke out after the cops stopped two persons at a checkpost. The two persons, believed to be railway employees, were reportedly in an inebriated condition.
The two then attempted to tear the uniform of a cop, following which one person took out his pistol and fired in the air.
Meanwhile police have arrested one person, while the shooter managed to flee from the spot.
Earlier yesterday, a policeman's hand was chopped off and two other police officials were injured when an unruly mob allegedly attacked them in Punjab's Patiala district.
