Chandigarh: Punjab is witnessing a new political drama after Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted Tuesday ahead of a decision from the Punjab Haryana High Court in a matter related to drugs. Sidhu tweet came before the High Court was announced their decision in the drugs matter on Tuesday.
Sidhu in his tweet stated that youths and suffering mothers will get justice today after the court put light on the STF Report on Drugs.
Sidhu said "Today, STF Report on Drugs will finally see light of day after 2.5 yrs of delay in sealed covers, court naming main culprits behind drug trade will be first victory for youth & suffering mothers of Punjab. Hope they are given punishment that acts as a deterrent for generations !!"
Reacting to Sidhu's tweet Akali Dal leader Daljit Cheema said that Sidhu does not know the dignity of politics, nor does the government. He said " Sidhu is interfering in the work of Judiciary by tweeting on the matter which has already been presented before the court. By tweeting on such a matter he is indirectly trying to influence the court while the judiciary itself is capable of giving the decision. Sidhu should not have tweeted in the matter while being the party president, and it is a disrespect to the judiciary.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Aman Arora lashed out at Sidhu saying that Navjot Singh is just doing politics while tweeting on such issues now.
Aman said "Sidhu is only doing politics by tweeting like this. The matter is already there in the court and the court itself has to give a decision. When Sidhu's government was in power for four and a half years, he could not do anything, and now he is trying to prove himself a great through tweets."
