Fatehgarh Sahib: Amritpal Singh, Municipal Commissioner from the Norwegian city of Drammen, after many years of struggle, has succeeded in gaining permission from the Norwegian government for a special style of turban tying. The law was welcomed by various Sikh organizations.
Paramjeet Kaur Sirhind, a prominent writer from Sirhind, was also proud to share the joy of the achievement of his son-in-law Amritpal Singh. Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra, a former Member of Parliament, was instrumental in resolving the issue of Sikh turbans by contacting the Norwegian government through the Central Government.
