Jalandhar (Punjab): In view of the surge of Covid-19 cases in the state, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori Saturday has set up an oxygen concentrator bank at the Red Cross Bhawan in Jalandhar City, where 30 oxygen concentrators are kept.
This initiative is taken in accordance with providing oxygen to those facing an oxygen crunch while taking Covid-19 treatment at home.
A patient can get the concentrator on the basis of a prescription by a doctor at Rs 200 per day rent with refundable security of Rs 5,000.
Giving the briefing about the facility, the DC said, "This decision has been taken, considering the number of Covid-19 patients in Jalandhar. The oxygen concentrators will be given to those fighting the virus while taking medication at home."

Along with this, DC also told that an arrangement of 30 beds is done in the Sewal hospital, for the ones who are facing post-covid complications. The service is available 24x7 for the patients and even free food will be given to them.

Punjab on Friday recorded 8,068 fresh COVID-19 cases that took its tally to 4,83,984 while 180 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 11,477, according to a medical bulletin.
