Raipur: Security forces on Sunday recovered a powerful IED planted by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district during a de-mining operation, an officer said.
The 20-kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), packed in a steel container, was unearthed from the densely-forested Kerlapal-Fulbagdi road during a de-mining operation launched by a joint team of the District Force and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sukma Superintendent of Police Shalabh Sinha told the Media.
"The IED was planted beneath the earth to target security forces," Sinha said adding that the explosive was immediately destroyed by a bomb disposal squad.
