As per the laid down drill, troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone by firing, the spokesman said. He said that the troops deployed in the depth area also heard the sound of dropping of consignment in the farm fields on the outskirts of Village Dhanoe Kalan. During initial search of the area, BSF troops recovered a black coloured Drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice 300 RTK) in partially broken condition and a big packet wrapped with yellow adhesive tape containing two packets of suspected heroin and as many small packets of Opium.
One iron ring was also found attached with the consignment. As per the BSF spokesman, the gross weight of the two packets of heroin is approximately 2 kg and that of opium is approximately 170 grams. The BSF said that another nefarious attempt of narco-terrorism from Pakistan side stands foiled by vigilant BSF troops.
Significantly, the recovery of the Pakistani drone carrying the drugs comes three days after a rogue drone, which had earlier intruded from Pakistani side and fired upon by the BSF troops, was recovered by the Gurdaspur Police.
