New Delhi: A Supreme Court bench comprising of CJI SA Bobde, Justice Surya Kant and Justice BR Gavai has directed the centre to file a compliance report in four weeks on the re-grassing of the mining areas in Odisha.
Justice Bobde said the bench had in its last order, instructed the government to insert certain provisions to the mining leases.
The centre informed the apex court today that it has paid the penality amount to the state government and as per the court's order they should be allowed to resume the operations.
Filing a reply, the state also acknowledged the payment made by the Centre to the state government.
The matter has been listed for hearing on Wednesday.
