Bhubaneswar (Odisha): A micro artist from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Gayatri Mavuru, has shown perseverance and patience by drawing many miniature paintings on the coin.
Gayatri has set a new world record for unusual miniature paintings on one rupee coins. She has also received an award for her world record on behalf of the country.
She has carved a name for herself in drawing of artistic pictures on the backside of one rupee coins. She had made 100 miniature paintings of Ganesha, Buddha, Koi Fish, Closed Doors, Flowers, Seascapes, Sceneries, Sun, Planets, Moon, Butterflies, Boats and Ships with acrylics colours on one rupee Indian coins measuring 20mm diameter.
Her artistic works on 100 pieces of one rupee coins relate to ten subjects. As she said that it takes nearly one hour to make a painting on one coin.
Gayatri, who originally hails from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, is now staying in Odisha for quite a long time.
She is very happy with her works. According to her, this is a different type of education and she plans to break her own record.
Gayatri says that she brought a coin from her son and started her painting work and from that day she is enhancing her talent in it.
