The girl's family members had filed a complaint against the officer Banamali Kuanra on Sunday after which he was suspended by the Baragarh superintendent of police Mukesh Kumar Bhamo.

The accused was posted as an assistant sub-inspector in Sohela police station allegedly raped the victim whom a youth named Kaibalya Nag had kidnapped.
The girl was kidnapped when she was going to her tuition classes in Diptipur from Jhungapali village. The complainant said that she was taken to Banamali Kuanra's rented house in Sohela block where the kidnapper first raped her and later was raped by the ASI at his official residence.

While the kidnapper was arrested by Sohela police on Sunday, the accused officer was suspended. They will be sent for medical tests today and forwarded to the court, police said.
The accused officer was allotted a quarter in Sohela where he was staying alone and his family was staying in Bheden tehsil. But, he also took a house on rent in Sohela, informed the police.
