The soldier belonging to the 68th battalion of the Border Security Force shot himself in Odisha. Reports say family dispute may have led the soldier to take the extreme step.

Bhubaneswar: A jawan of the Border Security Force’s 68 Battalion stationed at Kalyansinghpur in Rayagada district in Odisha reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself .

The jawan identified as Dillip Mai allegedly shot himself with his service rifle.

The motive behind Mai’s extreme step remains a mystery and a family dispute is suspected to be the reason. The jawan had married four months ago.

The police sent the body for post-mortem amid further investigation.
