Bhubaneswar: A chopper, ferrying Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Chief Navin Patnaik to an election campaign in Rourkela, was inspected by a surveillance team from the Election Commission, on Wednesday.
According to reports, the special team (flying squad) conducted the inspection as soon as Patnaik's chopper landed for the public meeting.
Unlike the recent incident, in which Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan got into an argument with the flying squad (during a similar inspection), Patnaik cooperated with the officials, as they scoured through his luggage and the interiors of the chopper.
A total of 35 candidates are in the fray for the five Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, scheduled in the second phase of polling.
Of the total voters, 39.45 lakh male, 37.47 lakh female and 605 others will cast their votes in 9,117 booths.
