Cuttack: Saroj Ranjan Kar, a die-hard cricket fan from Cuttack, is showing his love for the game by collecting accessories and autographs of cricketers.
He had a dream from his young days to become a cricketer, but since that could not be fulfilled, he is now busy collecting the mementoes of cricketers all around.
During this time he has been able to collect autographs of more than 5,000 cricket players. This includes many legendary cricketers like Clive Lloyd, Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Garfield Sobers, Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar and many more.
Saroj Ranjan Kar's son, Yuvraj Kar, while talking to ETV Bharat said: "I'm seeing this since my childhood that my father is collecting all cricket accessories like bat, gloves, ball, wicket and jersey from the cricketers and I support him in his work."
"He is also very much encouraged about his work, the reason being he could not fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a cricketer. But he is far ahead in the matter of collection of autographs and cricket kit of all the big names in the cricketing world," he added.
" I support my father in his initiative because I also want to play cricket and I'm practising for it."
ETV Bharat spoke to Saroj Ranjan Kar, he said: "The first autograph I took was from Clive Lloyd in 1982, and from that day till now I took autographs from more than 5,000 players."
There is no famous cricketer left, whose autograph I haven't taken, he added.
"I want to build my museum with these cricket accessories, so that, years later, people can come and remember this as a cricket museum."
Saroj Ranjan Kar proved the saying: "If you're determined to move, nothing can stop you", Determination is the key!
