Bhubaneswar: Odisha special relief commissioner, Pradeep Jena held a meeting to ramp up preparedness as India Meteorological Department has forecast cyclonic storm. Every department has been advised to remain alert and ready by SRC, as per Odisha State Disaster Management Authority .

Jena took to Twitter to state that a meeting was held with IMD along with different departments to sensitise on cyclone preparedness. He also stated that all Secretaries have already started preparations. As directed by Chief Minister of Odisha, every necessary action would be taken beforehand.

A low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal around May 22. It is very likely to intensify gradually into a cyclonic storm during subsequent 72 hours. It is very likely to move northwestwards and reach Odisha-West Bengal coasts around May 26 evening, the IMD said.
