Puri: Cyclone Fani has left some dreadful marks on Puri. It completely devasted the scenario of Badadanda sea beach, Malatipatpur bus stand and every street of Puri. It is one of the most painful experiences people have ever gone through. Rescue operations might have saved millions from a sure death but couldn't save their properties.
“Fani had a landfall at Puri on May 3, with wind speeds of over 200 kmph and gusting up to 240 kmph. It tore apart the infrastructure, especially power, telecom and water supply.”
Districts such as Puri, Khurdha, Cuttack and Nayagarh were affected the most.
It was the severest cyclone to hit the state since the Super Cyclone of 1999, which had claimed nearly 10,000 lives and devastated vast areas of the state.
Slowly and gradually life is returning to normalcy in the state.
