Woman's self-immolation bid causes furore in Nashik

A woman along with her husband attempted to set her ablaze in front of the police commissioner's office in Nashik. It is alleged that the woman resorted to the extreme step as the police did not register a case based on her complaint against a person namely Ajay Bagul.

Nashik: A woman along with her husband attempted to set her ablaze in front of the police commissioner's office in Nashik. It is alleged that the woman resorted to the extreme step as the police did not register a case based on her complaint against a person namely Ajay Bagul.

The couple's attempt created a furore in Maharashtra since Chief Minister Uddav Thackeray and Home Minister were about to visit Nashik today. The woman is a well-known personality, according to sources.

Sources said Ajay Bagul was entangled in grave crimes and during the implementation of the criminal improvement scheme his name was removed from the list of major and minor offenders. The case against Bagul was withdrawn and he was given a chance to rectify himself.
